The Census of Schools has been conducted, since 1960. This census is the the fourty sixth one in a series of censuses conducted annually. This census provides valuable information about goverment school and teachers to policy makers, planners and researchers..
The questionnaire is filled by Principals of the schools and it contains following parts.

- Details about the disabled students

Abstract
The Ministry of Education has conducted an uninterrupted series of annual school census for well over four decades.

Data Collection Notes
The questionnaires are handed over to the Divisional Directors.
Divisional Directors distributed the questionnaires to the schools in their divisions
Divisional Director collects the filled questionnaires and handed over to the Zonal office.
Data enntry is done by the Zonal office and data file is mailed to the Ststistical Branch of Ministry of Education.

Data Editing
Manual data editing and coding is done by the zonal offices.
Other Processing
Data processing included the following steps.
1. Accepting the data files from the zonal offices through e-mail by Statistical Branch of the MOE.
2. Run edit program.
3. Produce error report and return to the Zonal office
4. Correction of errors on the report by the Zonal Office
5. Re-run the edit program and repeat the error correction procedure
6. Merge the data files
7.. Produce final tables on clean data .
